Some Drawings

 I started streaming a bit using paint.net, and it's been a good amount of fun. None of these are too serious (except the last one). Thought I'd show off a bit.







I totally wowed myself with this last one. I was super-zoomed in drawing it and when I saw the whole thing, I was sort of amazed by what I had made? It took an hour-and-a-half and I think it's one of the best things I've ever drawn (digitally).

  I was going to record a podcast about this, but when I first started writing it, my throat was suffering, was I, form a mysterious illness that I briefly thought may have been mono, but it didn't last nearly long enough to be that. I can't emphasize how pissed off I would've been to have mono, the Janice Soprano disease. Dirty Rotten Scoundrels You know, I feel like we have no modern-day equivalent to Steve Martin. There are so few people who can just play an asshole that you can’t help but like the way he can. We do, however, have a good deal of British actors who can sleepwalk through a movie they’re not interested in. Michael Caine does fine enough for what he’s given, but he’s mostly flat and unemotional. Neon Genesis Evangelion 3-in-1 Edition Volumes 3, 4, and 5. original concept by khara, story and art by Yoshiyuki Sadamoto These books have been haunting me since I finished volume 3 of the series. I was always going to be wary; as I’ve said before, I’ve never been a huge fan of NGE. I never quite “got” what the hype was about. But it looks my reservations were unfounded as Sadamoto makes some bold decisions that not only make the series stand out on its own, but makes me like it a bit better than the source material. Live Free or Die Hard For some reason when I was visiting my parents’ house where they were prepping me to take care of the house while they’re on a 3-week road trip up and down the East Coast because my dad is determined to visit Europe before he dies and wants to see if traveling with my mom is a viable option, he insisted that we watch this. I’ve never seen a Die Hard movie before, so I guess this is, by default, my favorite film in the series. And you know what? It isn’t terrible. I’m not going to say it’s great or anything, but it’s a totally serviceable action movie, and it has all the hallmarks of a mid-2000s film: a nonsensical plot about “hacking;” Alienware computers; Justin Long for some reason. It works just fine, but I wouldn’t watch it again.
